In recent decades, the level of pollution in cities has grown exponentially. In 2022, 29 Italian cities out of a total of 95 exceeded the daily limits for PM10, and considering the new European standards expected for 2030, 76% of cities are non-compliant for PM10, 84% for PM2.5, and 61% for NO2.
The proposed challenge aims to identify cutting-edge technologies capable of reducing air pollution levels, promoting the physical and mental well-being of citizens, and actively involving them.
The proposed solutions can be focused on reducing both direct and indirect emissions, such as promoting more efficient urban traffic management.
